Jimmie Peña is a 3rd generation resident of Rosenberg and has lived in the area all his life except when he served in the Air Force and when he attended college. He’s married to Amy Hardin, is father of 6 and grandfather of 2. Jimmie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe until the early 1990’s since then he’s been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 

 

Jimmie has served in the military and was Honorable Discharge as Sergeant in the Air Force in 1976. Jimmie has served the Rosenberg area community most of his adult life. Starting as President of Rose Rich Jaycees and later became a distinguished president of the Rose Rich Optimist Club. He has served in the Presidents and Ambassadors Club of the Rosenberg-Richmond Chamber of Commerce.

 

Jimmie is a life member of the Fort Bend Fair Association and is currently the Commander for the Richmond American Legion Post 567. Jimmie worked for 15 years with HL&P in the Engineering Department designing power distribution lines. In the last 20 years Jimmie has been a Construction Safety Director for construction project as large as $670 million with responsibilities for implementing and directing Federal safety procedures.

 

In 2013 Jimmie retired and now has the time to serve the community which has been so important in his life. After being encouraged by his wife, children and friends he decided to seek re-election for Rosenberg's City Council.  Jimmie has the personal skills, professional experience and political vision to effectively represent the best interests of the residents and businesses of District 1.
